Our Story
Black Stork Mfg. Co. was founded with a simple belief: exceptional tools should be built to serve generations—not seasons.
We manufacture knives and tools where traditional craftsmanship meets modern engineering. Every piece is designed with purpose, built by hand, and finished with the conviction that quality should never be compromised.
Our creations are made atop the shoulders of all the giants and titans of craftsmanship that came before us and continue to teach and inspire us to this day.
The knives and tools we make are for those who know the value of hard work with precision and dedication to back it up. For all those who seek to own a piece of craftsmanship and functional art imbued with a piece of the craftsman’s soul.
Our work is heavily inspired by traditional Japanese techniques and designs, with our own personal twists and modern materials. We draw inspiration from old Japanese blacksmiths due to their renowned craftsmanship and unparalleled dedication to precision, function, and beauty in everything they create.
We believe as they did, that a knife or tool not only has to be sharp and functional, but also has to visually please its user. With that in mind we follow the 3 Fs:
Fit - is it pleasant in the hand during use?
Function - does it perform well during use?
Fashion - does it catch the eye? Is it cool? Is it sexy?
We have chosen the stork as our symbol as it reflects our principles and place of origin. Our workshop is located in Kutina, a small town in Croatia, home to many storks but only a single black stork…apart from us. The humble stork is not just a bird but a symbol—a symbol of dedication, devotion, and the link between Heaven and Earth. We pride ourselves on our devotion to our craft, our dedication to preserving heritage, and our link to Christ.
And so, with a passion to create things that will outlast their users, we set out on our journey to fill the world with intentionally and soulfully created knives, tools, and trinkets.
