All Black Stork Mfg. knives are made from high-quality materials such as high-carbon steels of varying types, depending on the knife and its purpose. All our handles are also made from materials made for use and abuse, such as Micarta or stabilized wood.

What is stabilized or stab wood?

Stabilized wood is a material often used in custom high-end knives. Stabilized or stab wood is wood impregnated with stabilizing resins that ensure the wood will stand up to tough use. It will not shrink, expand or crack even when moist or wet.

How do I care for my custom Black Stork knife?

The main thing to keep in mind is to clean and dry your knife after each use and avoid using it on ceramic, glass, or metal cutting boards.
